Privacy policy

Bicycles parked along a quiet Copenhagen street

Last updated 8 June 2026.

BikeSafe CPH ("we", "us") respects your privacy. This page explains what data we collect, why, and the choices you have. We collect as little as possible, we never sell your data, and we do not track you across other websites or show ads.

Analytics (only with your consent)

We use Google Analytics to understand which guides and routes help riders most. Analytics cookies load only after you choose "Accept" on our cookie banner - until then, no analytics data is collected. We run with IP anonymisation on, and we do not use Google Analytics for advertising, ad personalisation or cross-site tracking. You can change your mind at any time by clearing the site data in your browser, which resets the banner.

Newsletter

If you sign up for our newsletter, we store the email address you give us so we can send occasional tips about cycling Copenhagen. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time.

Contact form

When you write to us through the contact form, we receive the name, email address and message you submit, and we keep it only as long as needed to answer you and handle any follow-up.

Cookies

We use one small local setting to remember your cookie choice so we do not ask on every visit. Analytics cookies are set by Google only after you accept. We use no advertising or social-media tracking cookies.

Who we share data with

We use a small number of trusted providers to run the site - for example Google (Analytics) and our email provider. They process data on our behalf under their own data-protection terms. We do not sell or rent your personal data to anyone.

Legal basis and your rights

Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), our legal basis is your consent for analytics and the newsletter, and our legitimate interest in answering messages you send us. You have the right to access, correct or delete your data, to withdraw consent, and to object to processing. To exercise any of these, contact us.

If you believe we have mishandled your data, you can complain to the Danish Data Protection Agency (Datatilsynet, datatilsynet.dk).

Changes

We may update this policy as the site evolves. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
